Trip Itinerary

Day 1: Fly to Lhasa (3680m.)

This is one of the exciting day of your Tibet Nepal Bhutan 12 days Tour, Arrive Lhasa by flight or by train then our Tibetan guide will pick you up and transfer to Hotel. Rest at Hotel. O/n Hotel.

Day 2: Tour in Lhasa: Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple & Barkhor Bazaar

Today you will visit the vital Potala Palace which is Lhasa’s prime landmark and is also a wonder of Eastern architecture. Potala Palace was once home to Dalai Lama and it has been there since the fifth or sixth century. Not only this, you will also be visiting Jokhang Temple located at Barkhor Bazaar. This temple is the most respected shrine in Tibet and is continually crowded with devotees. You will also get a chance to shop in Barkhor Bazaar; the swarming central market in prehistoric section of Lhasa.

Day 3: Tour in Lhasa: Drepung and Sera Monastery (Have a visit to the local Tibetan monk's Buddhism study activities-lection debate)

After breakfast, you will drive to Lhasa city and visit to the Drepung Monastery, which was some time ago the world's biggest monastery and was home for 10,000 monks. Drepung monastery is veiled in between the rocky edges which are just away from the city. In the afternoon, you will go around Sera Monastery which has spread out golden roofs and whitewashed walls. This well conserved monastery is situated just 5km North of Lhasa city. Here, famous debating activities take place pretty regularly on every working day, which shouldn't be missed while going around.

Day 4: Lhasa – Kathmandu (Fly back)

After Breakfast drive to gongar airport for fly to Kathmandu, arrive Kathmandu, transfer to Hotel, free afternoon. Evening welcome Typical Nepali Dinner with Cultural program in Nepali restaurant. Overnight Hotel.

Day 5: Kathmandu sightseeing Tour - Boudhanath, Pashupatinath, Bhaktapur City – Today you will go for sightseeing around the cultural heritage enlisted in UNESCO World Heritage List.

Boudhanath:
The largest ancient Buddhist Stupa in Nepal as well as in South Asia is situated in the east region Kathmandu of the valley. It was constructed by the Lichchhavi King Man Dev in the 4th century A.D. is the religious centre for Nepal's large population of Tibetan exiles, and the streets here around the Stupa are full of maroon-robed monks. This is one of the few places in the world where Tibetan culture is available, lively and unfettered.
Pashupatinath:
Nepal's most significant Hindu temple lies on the shore of the holy Bagmati River, on the eastern periphery of Kathmandu. Pashupatinath is also the central Shiva temple that draws disciples and Sadhus from different parts of Nepal as well as India. The temple lies 5 km. east of the Kathmandu on the shore of the sacred River, Bagmati where dead body is cremated according to Hindu rituals.
Bhaktapur City:
Bhaktapur is also known as Bhadgaon means ‘City of Rice' or Khwopa which means City of Devotee in Newari. It is located situated in the east region of Kathmandu valley which keeps hold of much of its attractiveness in the form of metaphorical woodcarvings, legendary Golden Gate, large and beautiful Durbar Square, pottery square, 55windows palace, Bhairavnath, Nyatapola, and Dattatreya Temples and more. Day 6: Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour - Patan, Swayambhunath, Kathmandu Durbar square After Breakfast sightseeing Tour of Kathmandu and around as per below places:

Patan City:
The Patan Durbar Square has been highly praised as one of the richest city for art and architecture in Nepal. Most of the shrines seen today were constructed between the 16th to 18th centuries. It is recognized as the hub of sculpture and for the excellent craft of the artist.
Swayambhunath:
The large Buddhist temple of Swayambhunath on the peak of a hill lying west to Kathmandu, Swayambhunath is one of the most popular places to visit. The temple is recognized as the 'Monkey Temple'. According to myths, the Kathmandu Valley was some time ago a lake and the hill where Swayambhunath sets was cropped up naturally (Swayambhunath), similar to a lotus leaf blossomed from the filthy waters of the lake. From the hilltop at Swayambhunath you will see views of Kathmandu valley.
Kathmandu Durbar square:
Kathmandu Durbar Square is one of the famous places which embrace wonderful architecture and arty adornment. The beautiful palaces including Hanuman Dhoka Palace, well-known Kasthamandap Temple, and many other temples, constructed in between 1200 to 1768 A.D. Also, you can visit the Living Goddess, Kumari.

Day 7: Kathmandu - Paro - Thimpu (2320m.)

Taking a picturesque flight from Kathmandu to Paro, soon you will step off the plane and you will be escorted by our guide to Paro town for lunch. After the lunch, you will be visiting Ta Dzong, an antique watchtower which is now a museum entitled as The National Museum. Later, you will be going to Rinpung Dzong which was built in 17th century for protections. Later that day, you will be off to Thimpu, the capital city of Bhutan where you will be staying a night in a hotel.

Day 8: Thimpu Sightseeing; Drive to Punakha (3120m.)

Thimpu has a population of around 66,000 which is just made up of three lines of shops and is the only capital in the world with no Traffic Lights. In the evening, you will be visiting the Handicrafts Emporium. It is the only place in Thimpu where all types of Bhutanese handicrafts are sold and even made. You drive to Punakha from Thimpu over the Dochu La pass lying at an elevation of 3,050m.) and en route you will see more of the striking scenery. At Punakha, you will go around Punakha Dzong. In a while you visit Wangdi Dzong and then drive hotel for overnight.

Day 9: Punakha - Paro (Sightseeing)

Today, in the morning, you will drive to Paro. En route, you make a trip to the oldest Dzong in Bhutan, Simtokha Dzong. You keep on driving to Paro. In the afternoon, you will be visiting National Museum, Satsam Chorten Monastery and Paro Dzong. Overnight at hotel in Paro.

Day 10: Paro (2250m.)

Today is the eleventh day of your trip and you go for seeing the sights of the Taktsang Monastery which is the most popular monastery on the cliff. It is also known as 'Tiger's Nest' Monastery. The trek up to the view point will take around 2 hours and from this point you can take delight form the spectacular view of the monastery adhering to the side of an elevated cliff. Then you walk further to reach at the monastery which will take around 2 hours and then return back to the hotel and relax. On the other hand, you can also travel around the Paro marketplace. Overnight at the hotel in Paro.

Day 11: Fly back to Kathmandu

Fly from Paro to Kathmandu then free afternoon in Kathmandu on your own for last minute shopping or relaxing day. Overnight Hotel.

Day 12: Departure

We will transfer you to Airport for fly back home.

Clothing and Equipments

Certain basic trekking equipment is essential on all routes we described in this site. Depending on the area and season, we will provide you with a comprehensive list of necessities. Here is some recommended Equipments List for trekking in Nepal.

Clothing

1. Boots

Lightweight walking boots. If new one is being bought, “walk then in” to avoid blisters. Also bring spare laces.

2. Track shoes

A pair of track shoes. To wear in the camp at night or when the boot is wet.

3. Jacket

Warm jacket. Fiber fills or down should be adequate. This is especially necessary during winter from December to February. A rainproof jacket with hood or a poncho. Get the one that is guaranteed waterproof.

4. Shirt and Sweaters

Woolen shirts and thick sweaters. During winter months, December through February these items are essential. Thick sweaters can be purchased in Kathmandu. 1 lightweight long sleeved -shirt is particularly suitable for avoiding sun burn.

5. Trousers

A pair of lightweight/ heavy weight trousers. Jeans are unsuitable to wear on treks. Cheap loose cotton pants are available in Kathmandu. Heavyweight trousers are useful higher up in the mountains in the morning and at night. Windproof/ waterproof trousers are necessary on all treks going above 10.00ft.

6. Underwear

Thermal underwear. These are excellent to sleep in at night in the winter months thermal underwear are quite invaluable.

7. Tracksuit

A tracksuit useful for wearing in camp and in the tent. 2 pair of loose fitting long shorts/ skirts.

8. Sleeping Bag

As you do not carry it yourself this may be synthetic or down, but it must be 4 season. As most treks pass through a variety of climatic conditions, a long zip is a good idea. A cotton/fleece liner helps keep your sleeping bag clean. Good sleeping bags are expensive but can be rented easily in Kathmandu (Only for treks starting and finishing there)

9. Sun Hat, SunCream/Block & Lip Salve

Choose a high factor suncream (Factor 20 or stronger) to protect your skin against the sun at high altitude. A combination sunblock/lip salve is ideal for facial protection.

10. Personal First Aid Kit

You should have your own supply of plasters, aspirin, diarrhea tablets and also a comprehensive blister kit. (Please do not give medicines to local people without consulting the trek leader.)

11. Hat/ Glove/ Sandle/ Shocks/ Underwear

a) A woolen hat to wear in the morning and at night. During winter it is an essential item.
b) A sunhat and ensure it has a wide brim to cover the face and neck.
b) A pair of gloves. Leather with lining and woolen are best. c) 1 pair of sandals to wear in the cities and in camp.
d) 4 pairs of thin and 4 pair of thick woolen socks.
e) Underwear” normal quantity and swimming costume, hankies.

Equipments and Accessories

a) Duffle bag or kit bag to carry to gear while trekking
b) Daypack: This is a small rucksack to carry personal requirement for the day e.g. toilet items, camera, film towel, soap, a boot etc.
c) Water bottle.
d) Snow glasses and sunglasses
e) 2-4 large plastic bags to separate clean clothes from dirty ones.
f) 6 -10 smaller plastic bags to dispose garbage.
g) Wallet and /or money belt with compartment for coins.
h) Toiletries with large and small towels. Toilet paper can buy in Kathmandu and some villages in the mountains.
i) Small headlamp and/ or torch with spare batteries and bulbs
j) candles and lighter to burn toilet paper.
k) Snow gaiters essential during wither and all treks going over at other times.
l) An umbrella (optional), which is quite useful to as a sunshade and useful when it rains.
m) Reading materials, camera and film, game items (optional), note book, rubber band, pen and pencil, envelopes, a diary, a calendar, a pocket knife, binoculars (optional), a small pillow or headrest (optional).
