Trip Itinerary

Day 1: Arrived at Kathmandu (1400m.)

You will first land at Kathmandu airport and meet with our representatives who transmit you to your Hotel. Our representatives will give you short description of your tour after you set up. After that, you will be getting some time to blend in and check stuffs in the Hotel to make sure if it is alright or not. In the afternoon, you will take some rest and later in the evening, you will be going out for Nepali dinner along with live folk dance performances. You will be back to your Hotel after everything is done and you will be off to sleep.

Day 2: Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour - Nagarkot (2915m.)

After your breakfast, you will be going for sightseeing at Pashupatinath Temple which is one of the most famous Temples in all over the world. There you will be gazing upon the cremation of dead body, devotees, monkeys and different other environments around the Temple. Later, you will be proceeding towards Patan to study its interesting arts and structural designs. Soon after that, you will be leaving Patan and you roam around Bhaktapur which is 4 Km, east of Kathmandu. Bhaktapur is actually re-known as the city of devotees and it is also a center of potter and fascinating façade. The prime sightseeing places in Bhaktapur are 55 windows palace, Nyatapola, Durbar Square, Dattatreya Temple, Bhairavnath Temple, et-cetera. After all the visits and tired-some day, in the evening, you will drive to Nagarkot where you will witness stunning sunset view and peak view including mighty Mt. Everest from the hotel. Day 3: Nagarkot – Kathmandu – Sightseeing

Early in the morning today you will witness the attention-grabbing sunrise view. After having breakfast, you will drive down to Kathmandu. On return, you will go for sightseeing tour of Swayambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple) and then go around Kathmandu Durbar Square and you will visit Kumari, the Living Goddess of Nepal, Hanuman Dhoka Palace, well-known Kasthamandap Temple and several other shrines. Overnight at hotel.

Day 5: Fly from Kathmandu to Lhasa (3680m.)

We will transfer you to Nepal Airport after Breakfast for your flight to Lhasa. This is one of the exciting day of your Nepal Tibet Bhutan 17 days Tour, an hour scenic flight over mountains will take you to Gongar Airport. Our Tibetan guide will pick you up and transfer to Hotel. Rest at Hotel. O/n Hotel.

Day 6: Lhasa (3680m.)

Your tour in Tibet in fact starts from today as you leave for Jokhang Temple after your breakfast. Jokhang Temple is one of the most famous Temples in Tibet that grasp many astonishing history. After some sightseeing of the great Jokhang Temple, you leave for another visit to Barkhor Street and Drepung Monastery. Tonight, you will be staying overnight in a Hotel thinking about the beautiful places you visited.

Day 7: Lhasa (3680m.)

Today you will visit the vital Potala Palace which is Lhasa’s prime landmark and is also a wonder of Eastern architecture. Potala Palace was once home to Dalai Lama and it has been there since the fifth or sixth century. Not only this, you will also be visiting the great Sera Monastery after that. O/N at a Hotel.

Day 8: Lhasa - Gyantse (3950m.) - Shigatse (3900m.)

Today is the day to leave for another prehistoric city of Tibet. Drive Lhasa to Gyantse [3950m] 261 km, along the way you can see Khamba La Pass, Yamdrok Lake, visit Gyantse Khumbum, then drive to Shigatse, visit Tashilunpo Monastery [3900m]. O/n Hotel.

Day 9: Shigatse - Shegar (4300m.)

Today you pass through the small town of Lhatse we will cross Gyatmso La, the highest pass on our journey. The views of this desert plateau provide wondrous entertainment as you travel along the Friendship Highway. This stretch is some of the most spectacular landscape in Tibet. The land quickly descends to plains after Gyatmso La. On the way of this adventure overland tour through the plains many nomadic herders, quiet countryside, and Tibetan monasteries can be seen. Overnight hotel in Shegar.

Day 10: Shegar - Rongbuk - Everest Base Camp - Rongbuk (5000m.)

This day, you will be gazing upon the great Mount Everest from your eye level. Today, you either drive from Shegar to Rongbuk (8 Km.) or you can walk or can even take a bus from Rongbuk to Everest base Camp which is the most underline of the tour. After Everest Base Camp, you will be driving back to Rongbuk where you will have your dinner and get some sleep.

Day 11: Rongbuk (5000m.) - Kerong (2450m.)

Continuing along the Friendship Highway you will leave Tingri and cross the Lalung La and the Shung La, two more incredible passes. The views from these passes are breathtaking once again. While standing on these passes one is surrounded by grandiose mountains such as Shishapangma, Cho Oyu, Gauri Shankar, and many more. In the afternoon you begin descending from the arid Tibetan plateau to a small town of Kerung. Kerung is much lower in elevation and as a result is much more lush and green than what you have experienced so far. Overnight at hotel in Kerung.

Day 12: Kerung (2450m) - Kathmandu (1400m)123km

Today is the last day of this Everest Base Camp Overland tour. You will leave Zhangmu in the morning and head to the Nepal Tibet border. The Friendship Bridge lies at the Border of China and Nepal and is only a few kilometers from Kerung. It spans the impressive Bhote Koshi River. Sadly you must say goodbye to your Tibetan guide and driver at this point. Our Nepalese staff will meet you at the immigration control in Kerung and help with all the re-entry formalities. The city of Kathmandu, our end destination, lies only five hours to the south. You can extend further tour in Nepal or fly back home. Overnght at hotel.

Day 13: Kathmandu - Paro (2250m.) - Thimpu (2320m.)

Taking a picturesque flight from Kathmandu to Paro, soon you will step off the plane and you will be escorted by our guide to Paro town for lunch. After the lunch, you will be visiting Ta Dzong, an antique watchtower which is now a museum entitled as The National Museum. Later, you will be going to Rinpung Dzong which was built in 17th century for protections. Later that day, you will be off to Thimpu, the capital city of Bhutan where you will be staying a night in a hotel.

Day 14: Thimpu Sightseeing (2320m.)

Thimpu has a population of around 66,000 which is just made up of three lines of shops and is the only capital in the world with no Traffic Lights. In the evening, you will be visiting the Handicrafts Emporium. It is the only place in Thimpu where all types of Bhutanese handicrafts are sold and even made. You drive to Punakha from Thimpu over the Dochu La pass lying at an elevation of 3050m and en route you will see more of the striking scenery. At Punakha, you will go around Punakha Dzong. In a while you visit Wangdi Dzong and then drive hotel for overnight.

Day 15: Punakha (1310m.) - Paro (Sightseeing)

Today, in the morning, you will drive to Paro. En route, you make a trip to the oldest Dzong in Bhutan, Simtokha Dzong. You keep on driving to Paro. In the afternoon, you will be visiting National Museum, Satsam Chorten Monastery and Paro Dzong. Overnight at hotel in Paro.

Day 16: Paro (2250m.)

Today is the fifteenth day of our trip and we go for seeing the sights of the Taktsang Monastery which is the most popular monastery on the cliff. It is also known as 'Tiger's Nest' Monastery. The trek up to the view point will take around 2 hours and from this point you can take delight form the spectacular view of the monastery adhering to the side of an elevated cliff. Then you walk further to reach at the monastery which will take around 2 hours and then return back to the hotel and relax. On the other hand, you can also travel around the Paro marketplace. Overnight at the hotel in Paro.

Day 17: Fly Paro to Kathmandu (1350m.)

After having breakfast you will transfer to airport for taking flight to Kathmandu. You have relaxing and free afternoon in Kathmandu. The flight will offer us great view of the high hills through the windowpane. The night will be entertaining at the nearest hotel.

Day 18: Departure

Today is the last day of your tour. You will be transferred to the airport in Kathmandu to catch the flight to return to your home country.

Clothing and Equipments

Certain basic trekking equipment is essential on all routes we described in this site. Depending on the area and season, we will provide you with a comprehensive list of necessities. Here is some recommended Equipments List for trekking in Nepal.

Clothing

1. Boots

Lightweight walking boots. If new one is being bought, “walk then in” to avoid blisters. Also bring spare laces.

2. Track shoes

A pair of track shoes. To wear in the camp at night or when the boot is wet.

3. Jacket

Warm jacket. Fiber fills or down should be adequate. This is especially necessary during winter from December to February. A rainproof jacket with hood or a poncho. Get the one that is guaranteed waterproof.

4. Shirt and Sweaters

Woolen shirts and thick sweaters. During winter months, December through February these items are essential. Thick sweaters can be purchased in Kathmandu. 1 lightweight long sleeved -shirt is particularly suitable for avoiding sun burn.

5. Trousers

A pair of lightweight/ heavy weight trousers. Jeans are unsuitable to wear on treks. Cheap loose cotton pants are available in Kathmandu. Heavyweight trousers are useful higher up in the mountains in the morning and at night. Windproof/ waterproof trousers are necessary on all treks going above 10.00ft.

6. Underwear

Thermal underwear. These are excellent to sleep in at night in the winter months thermal underwear are quite invaluable.

7. Tracksuit

A tracksuit useful for wearing in camp and in the tent. 2 pair of loose fitting long shorts/ skirts.

8. Sleeping Bag

As you do not carry it yourself this may be synthetic or down, but it must be 4 season. As most treks pass through a variety of climatic conditions, a long zip is a good idea. A cotton/fleece liner helps keep your sleeping bag clean. Good sleeping bags are expensive but can be rented easily in Kathmandu (Only for treks starting and finishing there)

9. Sun Hat, SunCream/Block & Lip Salve

Choose a high factor suncream (Factor 20 or stronger) to protect your skin against the sun at high altitude. A combination sunblock/lip salve is ideal for facial protection.

10. Personal First Aid Kit

You should have your own supply of plasters, aspirin, diarrhea tablets and also a comprehensive blister kit. (Please do not give medicines to local people without consulting the trek leader.)

11. Hat/ Glove/ Sandle/ Shocks/ Underwear

a) A woolen hat to wear in the morning and at night. During winter it is an essential item.
b) A sunhat and ensure it has a wide brim to cover the face and neck.
b) A pair of gloves. Leather with lining and woolen are best. c) 1 pair of sandals to wear in the cities and in camp.
d) 4 pairs of thin and 4 pair of thick woolen socks.
e) Underwear” normal quantity and swimming costume, hankies.

Equipments and Accessories

a) Duffle bag or kit bag to carry to gear while trekking
b) Daypack: This is a small rucksack to carry personal requirement for the day e.g. toilet items, camera, film towel, soap, a boot etc.
c) Water bottle.
d) Snow glasses and sunglasses
e) 2-4 large plastic bags to separate clean clothes from dirty ones.
f) 6 -10 smaller plastic bags to dispose garbage.
g) Wallet and /or money belt with compartment for coins.
h) Toiletries with large and small towels. Toilet paper can buy in Kathmandu and some villages in the mountains.
i) Small headlamp and/ or torch with spare batteries and bulbs
j) candles and lighter to burn toilet paper.
k) Snow gaiters essential during wither and all treks going over at other times.
l) An umbrella (optional), which is quite useful to as a sunshade and useful when it rains.
m) Reading materials, camera and film, game items (optional), note book, rubber band, pen and pencil, envelopes, a diary, a calendar, a pocket knife, binoculars (optional), a small pillow or headrest (optional).
