The COVID-19 lockdown couldn’t halt the mountaineering adventure of the Royal Prince of Bahrain, Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa as the Nepalese government approved the permit for the trip proceedings on August 30, 2020.
The expedition team commanded by the Royal Prince arrived at the Tribhuvan International Airport on a special aircraft. Despite the lockdown, the expedition team has been given a permit of 2 months to make the climb of Mt. Manaslu and Mt. Lobuche.

According to the Embassy of Nepal in Manama, the mountaineering team had been in quarantine for the past 15 days and have tested negative for COVID-19. The team has committed itself to the safety guidelines and regulations put forward by the Nepalese government. Nepal’s Ambassador to Bahrain, Padam Sundas expresses his hopes for a positive bilateral relationship among the two nations.
The military expedition team has taken it upon themselves to support the local Sherpas who have had their livelihood disheveled due to the lockdown. This high-profile mountaineering expedition is to be overseen by Seven Sunny Treks in Nepal.
