Rally taken out on World Tourism Day

Different tourism organizations took out a rally in the morning of September 27 as part of celebrating 24th World Tourism Day.Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation (MoCTCA), Nepal Tourism Board

(NTB), Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal (TAAN) along with number of travel trade organizations participated in the rally that started from Sanchakosh Building in Thamel and passes through Durbar Marg, Ghantaghar, Ratna Park, Bhadrakali, Sundhara and New Road Gate before culminating into a gathering at Basantapur. Participants carried placards and banners carrying different messages in line with this year’s World Tourism Day’s theme – Tourism and Water: Protecting our Common Future.

TAAN President Ramesh Prasad Dhamala, Senior Vice-President Keshav Pandey, 1st Vice-President Kami Rinji Sherpa, 2nd Vice-President Kul Bahaudur Gurung, General Secretary Sagar Pandey, Secretary Pasang Sherpa, Treasurer Gopal Babu Shrestha, Joint-Treasurer Tilak Bahadur Thapa Magar and Executive Members Dhan Prasad Gurung, Ang Pemba Sherpa, Pasang Tendi Sherpa, Palsang Tamang, Rajendra Sapkota, Nilhari Bastola, Namaraj Gauli, Meghanad Timalsina and Gokul Sapkota participated in the rally. Office-bearers and members of past executive committees, member agencies of TAAN and staffers of TAAN secretariat also took part in the rally. Speaking at the gathering, representatives of different travel trade associations stressed the need to conserve water resources to promote our tourism industry.Nepal has been organizing series of programs across the country to celebrate 34th World Tourism Day since September 26.
