Ganesh Himal Tourism Development Committee (GHTDC) felicitated joint coordinators of TAAN’s Ganesh Himal Exploration Team – Rajendra Prasad Subedee and Saroj Neupane – amid a program in Kathmandu on September 8. Subedee and Neupane are the executive members of Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal (TAAN). Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Posta Bahadur Bogati felicitated the duo on behalf of the GHTDP. On the occasion, officials of GHTDC introduced working committee members of GHTDC in six VDCs in Dhading -- Tipling, Sertung, Lapa, Ri, Jharlang and Darkha. Speaking on the occasion, Minister Bogati expressed commitment to lobby with the concerned authorities for declaration of Ganesh Himal as a conservation area. The Ganesh Himal area lies in between two protected areas – Langtang National Park and Manaslu Conservation – and holds a great potential for cultural and mountain tourism. TAAN is developing the Ganesh Himal Trek by branding it as Ruby Valley Trek. The association recently conducted an exploration trip to the area and developed new itineraries, maps and promotional documentaries. TAAN President Mahendra Singh Thapa and Treasurer Anjan Thapa also participated in the program.
